A Glendale man has been sentenced to seven years in state prison after police discovered tens of thousands of fentanyl and methamphetamine pills inside a drug packaging operation, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced Tuesday.
Yeremy Amaya-Macias was sentenced by the Maricopa County Superior Court on Sept. 4, 2025, following an indictment on multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl for sale, conspiracy, and illegally conducting an enterprise.
The case began on May 2, 2022, when Glendale patrol officers responded to a trespassing call at a home near North 82nd Lane. After conducting a safety sweep, officers spotted drugs and packaging materials in plain view, prompting narcotics detectives to obtain a search warrant.
Inside the residence, investigators found more than 240 pounds of methamphetamine, roughly 68,000 blue pills that later tested positive for fentanyl and methamphetamine, and over one kilogram of powdered fentanyl. Officers also located scales, bagging materials, and containers consistent with drug distribution, as well as tires and vehicle parts believed to be used for cross-border smuggling.
Detectives tied Amaya-Macias to the scene through identification cards, vehicle registrations, and fingerprints. He later admitted to packaging methamphetamine at the home and fleeing just before police arrived.
“With every sentence my office secures, the streets of Arizona become safer,” Mayes said in a statement. “We will continue to aggressively investigate and prosecute those responsible for the scourge of fentanyl in our communities. One pill can kill. This guy had 68,000.”
The case was prosecuted by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office Criminal Division.
