A tragic scene played out in Goodyear as several bicyclists were riding across a bridge together on Sunday.
Police have arrested the driver responsible for the death of two cyclists and incurring 11 more riders.
A woman bicyclist died at the scene and another unidentified bicyclist, died at the hospital. Another cyclist remained in life-threatening condition on Sunday while nearly a dozen more are injured. The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. on the Cotton Lane Bridge.
The driver of a pickup truck Pedro Quintana-Lujan, 26, was booked into jail on numerous charges, including two counts of manslaughter, three counts of aggravated assault and 18 counts of endangerment, the Goodyear Police Department said in a press release.
All cyclists involved in the accident were adults and that Quintana-Lujan remained at the scene.
