Dispute Between Two Pickup Truck Drivers Leads to Fatal Shooting; Shooter Cooperating with Police

A driver was fatally shot in an apparent road rage incident in Glendale on Monday morning, according to authorities. The shooting occurred just before 8 a.m. at the intersection of 67th Avenue and Camelback Road, the Glendale Police Department reported.

The altercation involved two drivers, 29-year-old Ramses Saldano Lopez, who was driving a silver pickup truck hauling a trailer, and a 23-year-old male in a smaller tan pickup truck. The two men reportedly got into a dispute while stopped at a traffic light on Camelback Road.

Lopez allegedly exited his vehicle to confront the other driver, who then pulled out a gun and fired a single shot, striking Lopez. Police said the driver of the tan truck believed he acted in self-defense, fearing for his life.

Lopez sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead hours later. The shooter remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, though no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.

No additional details have been released at this time.
