Donating Blood Can Help You Win A Trip to See “Game of Thrones”

Local blood bank services are seeing a shortage in donations and they are offering an incentive to get volunteers in to donate.

If you want to have a chance to win one of five trips to the season eighth premiere of “Game of Thrones, all you have to do is donate blood. The show “Game of Thrones” and the American Red Cross are partnering to boost blood donations in Arizona.

If you donate blood between March 7 and 12, you’ll get a “Game of Thrones” T-shirt and sticker and the chance to win a trip to see the new season.

The blood type most in demand is Type O blood because it can be given to patients with all blood types, and the nonprofit organization is currently seeing a shortage. However, any blood type is accepted and appreciated.

Blood drive cancellations due to bad weather are responsible for the shortage.

“Right now, the Red Cross has less than a three-day supply of most blood types, and blood products are being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in,” said the American Red Cross.

You can make an appointment to donate by visiting their website or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
