Theater goers have an opportunity to visit the Pride Lands of the African savanna when Disney’s legendary musical “The Lion King” returns to ASU Gammage in the summer of 2022.
The musical, based on the 1994 animated film that won multiple Grammy and Academy awards, is the highest grossing musical of all times and is the winner of six Tony Awards. The show was scheduled for a stop in Tempe last year, but it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is estimated that this stage musical has been seen by more than 85 million people and has run on Broadway for nearly 24 years.
Tickets to the musical will go on sale Dec. 13. The show will run for four weeks starting July 5 through July 31st, Tuesdays through Sundays. VIP ticket packages will be available for purchase include a prime seat location, a souvenir program and an exclusive cinch bag.
