Disneyland and Disney World Opens Star Wars Theme In 2019

Disney recently announced that the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening up in the summer 2019 at Disneyland, and in the fall of 2019 at Disney World. No specific dates have been listed yet for Disneyland, but prior summers suggest Galaxy’s Edge should open sometime around late June.

Sitting behind Critter Country at Disneyland, space themed details are beginning to pop up as things are being constructed. Galaxy’s Edge will carry visitors into the world of Star Wars, placing them in a secluded outpost overlooked by warring parties. The two main attractions include a Millennium Falcon that visitors can pilot, the second being a battle zone that patrons are dropped in the middle of.

Recently, Disney has shifted some of its focus to Dumbo the Flying Elephant and It’s a Small World attractions that will bring customers toward the new Star Wars theme. They’ve made the same changes with Adventureland to further assist promotion of the additional theme.

A luxury resort in Downtown Disney is expected to open in June. Rain Forest Café, ESPN Zone, and AMC Theaters are closing to make space for the new hotel.
