Diamondbacks’ Opening Day – Know Before You Go

After a 99-day lockout, it is time to Play ball! It’s Opening Day for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the start of the 2022 baseball season.

Today, the Diamondbacks will open their season against the San Diego Padres at Chase Field at 6:40 p.m. Click here to purchase tickets to the game.

The Diamondbacks officials have reported that the roof will be open for the first game and attendees can expect a Luke Air Force Base flyover.


What You Need to Know If you Go

Cashless Concessions & Convenient Mobile Ordering
For a contactless experience, throughout the entire stadium, with the MLB Ballpark app and cashless options will be available for hungry fans. Fans can order concessions in the Ballpark App and be notified when your order is ready for pick up.

The team shops will not be accepting cash so make sure you have your credit/debit card on you to purchase any fan attire. Team merchandise can also be purchased using the mobile app.

Clear Bag Policy
A very standard rule that most all of the stadiums and arena’s have, be prepared on the type of bag you are carrying. If you enter the ballpark, fans may carry one clear plastic or vinyl bag no larger than 12” by x 6” x 12” or a clear plastic gallon freezer bag. Small clutch purses will be permitted that are no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”. All bags are subject to search.

Sports Betting
With legalization of sports betting in the state of Arizona, Caesars Entertainment has made Chase Field the first MLB stadium to invite fans to make in-person wagers. Fans can also place their bests using the Caesars Sportsbook App.

Caesars Sportsbook is open:
Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday, 8 a.m. – 12 a.m.

Fans can also place their bets at ticket windows 21-25.

Arizona Diamondbacks Giveaways
The D-backs enjoy making the home game experience special for fans and already have several games planned to give away some cool goodies. If you attend home games on the following days, the Diamondbacks have some great swag to the first in the gates. Those dates are: Mother’s Day weekend, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, and the Fourth of July.

Health and Safety Precautions
Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the ballpark. The Arizona Diamondbacks request that fans use the restroom to frequently wash their hands.

Attending a large event can increase one’s risk of exposure. The Diamondback staff ask that if you are sick or have a temperature, please do not attend an event at Chase Field.

In addition, if you in the last two weeks have tested positive or presumptively positive for COVID-19, experienced any symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19, or  been in direct contact with any person diagnosed (or suspected to be diagnosed) with COVID-19 to not come to Chase Field.
