Phoenix, AZ — Desert Financial Credit Union recently marked a major milestone in giving back to the community, as nearly 1,200 volunteers gathered to assemble over 400 bicycles for children in the care of the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS). These bicycles, purchased by Desert Financial for the Foster Alliance, are part of DCS’s Giving Tree program, which aims to spread holiday cheer to children in foster care throughout Arizona.
The donation, which includes helmets, bike locks, and personalized greeting cards for each child, represents the largest single gift the Foster Alliance has received to date. Desert Financial’s volunteers were excited to take part, knowing these bikes would bring joy and a sense of freedom to foster children during what can be a challenging season.
“We are grateful to Desert Financial Credit Union and the Foster Alliance for this incredible donation and for the hundreds of volunteers who dedicated their time and effort,” said Rayetta Sanchez, DCS Community Liaison. “These bicycles symbolize more than just transportation; they represent freedom, independence, and the joy of being a child. This generous act will bring lasting joy to so many kids this holiday season.”
Desert Financial’s support will reach children across the state, making a profound difference in their lives just in time for the holidays.
