Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee Tim Walz to Visit Phoenix Ahead of Harris-Trump Debate

Walz to Deliver Remarks at Political Event Just Before Presidential Debate Begins

PHOENIX – Democratic Vice Presidential nominee and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will make a campaign stop in Phoenix on Tuesday, the same day as the highly anticipated presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Walz is scheduled to participate in several “political engagements” in Phoenix during the afternoon, culminating in a speaking event at 5:30 p.m., the Harris-Walz campaign announced.

The event will take place just 30 minutes before ABC’s presidential debate kicks off at 6 p.m. While the campaign has not disclosed the venue, Walz is expected to highlight key differences between Harris’ policies and those of Trump. The focus of his remarks will center on Harris’ commitment to protecting fundamental freedoms and strengthening democracy. Walz will also criticize Project 2025 and address rising costs and attacks on freedoms.

The Phoenix visit is part of Walz’s two-day tour of the Sun Belt, with additional stops planned in Nevada and Texas. He will begin his tour in Dallas on Monday, followed by a rally in Reno, Nevada. Walz is scheduled to arrive at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport at 11 a.m. on Tuesday after a campaign reception in Las Vegas.

Although this is Walz’s first solo trip since joining Harris as her running mate, it is not his first visit to the Phoenix area. He previously appeared alongside Harris during a campaign rally in Glendale in August.
