Defendants Indicted for Triple Homicide and Arson in Ahwatukee Tragedy

Chase Christman and Dorian Rice Face Multiple Charges, Including First-Degree Murder, Following a Gruesome Crime Scene in Phoenix

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell has announced the indictment of Chase Christman (DOB: 10/1993) and Dorian Rice (DOB: 02/1971) for their alleged involvement in the brutal murders of three individuals in Ahwatukee.

On July 15th, Phoenix Police were called to an apartment fire in an Ahwatukee neighborhood near 48th Street and Warner Road. After the fire was extinguished, detectives discovered the bodies of three victims, all of whom showed signs of severe trauma, including gunshot and stab wounds. Tragically, three pets also perished in the blaze.

Investigative efforts led police to identify Chase Christman as being present at the crime scene, with further evidence pointing to Dorian Rice as an accomplice.


A grand jury has indicted Christman and Rice on the following charges:

  • Three counts of First-Degree Murder, a Class One Dangerous Felony
  • One count of Burglary in the First Degree, a Class Two Dangerous Felony
  • One count of Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, a Class Two Dangerous Felony
  • Three counts of Armed Robbery, a Class Two Dangerous Felony

In addition, Christman faces charges of:

  • Two counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons, a Class Four Felony
  • Three counts of Intentionally Killing a Domestic Animal, a Class Five Felony
  • One count of Arson of an Occupied Structure, a Class Two Dangerous Felony

Both defendants are currently being held on a $5,000,000 cash-only bond.
