Dead Body Found By Hikers In Badger Springs

On Saturday afternoon, three hikers found a dead body at popular Arizona hiking area over the weekend.

YCSO deputies responded to the report of a dead body located approximately 1 mile east of I-17 near mile marker 254 near Bumble Bee.

A DPS Trooper was met by 3 females hiking in the area. The females stated they observed a body in a watering hole nearby. Deputies arrived soon after and observed the subject was partially submerged in the water/mud and confirmed the subject was deceased.  The body was completely nude; however, personal items were located near the watering hole as well as possible other physical evidence.


The body, which was found approximately 50 miles north of Phoenix, has yet to be identified.

Due to the suspicious nature of the incident YCSO Criminal detectives were notified and are still investigating. No other information was available.
