Daughter Arrested After Early Morning Stabbing of Parents in Sedona

Parents Severely Injured, Undergoing Treatment at Local Hospitals

Yesterday morning, just after 5:30 AM, Deputies from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distressing report of a stabbing in the Village of Oak Creek, Sedona, specifically in the area of Coffee Pot Rock Drive.

Upon arrival, a patrol sergeant from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office encountered 33-year-old Lauren Levinson, the suspect, on the street near the home where the stabbing occurred. Levinson was taken into custody without incident.

Inside the residence, the sergeant discovered Levinson’s parents suffering from multiple stab wounds. Levinson’s mother had sustained numerous puncture wounds to her back, while her father had been stabbed several times in the arm.

Levinson’s brother, who had been called by one of the parents to assist, was on the scene and provided critical life-saving measures. He worked alongside the sergeant to staunch the wounds on his mother’s torso to protect her lung function and applied a tourniquet to his father’s arm.

The Sedona Fire Department arrived shortly after the scene was secured, taking over the life-saving efforts. Levinson’s mother was flown to the trauma center at Flagstaff Medical Center, while her father was transported by ambulance to Verde Valley Medical Center for treatment. The current medical status of both parents remains unknown.

Detectives and evidence technicians from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau are currently on the scene and have taken over the investigation.
