Companies That Are Hiring Workers In Arizona

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused, unpredictable cut in hours for many Arizonans and many have experienced a sudden loss of a job.

Many businesses around the Valley have reduced employee hours or have closed entirely, including restaurants, bars, movie theaters, casinos, and stores.

To try and help, here is a list companies in Arizona that are currently looking to hire workers.


WHO’S HIRING?

Both grocery store chains Albertsons and Safeway are looking to hire for more than 1,000 openings in Arizona. Open positions include delivery drivers, cashiers, customer service, and positions in the bakery, deli, meat, and produce departments.

Those interested can apply online at www.careersatsafeway.com or www.albertsonscompanies.com. On Tuesday, March 24 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., hiring managers will conduct on-site interviews at individual stores. Those applying should bring an updated resume.

Fry’s Food Stores is looking to hire nearly 500 employees in Arizona, from hourly entry-level positions to management positions. Pam Giannonatti, Kroger corporate affairs manager said the company is looking to hire immediately.

Those interested can apply online at Jobs.frysfood.com. Open positions include assistant front end manager, assistant grocery manager, grocery clerk, e-commerce clerk, deli manager, assistant producer manager. In addition, they are hiring for certified pharmacy technicians.

Bashas’ is in need of workers and they are looking to help those who many have experienced a cut back hours or closure of your work space. Bashas’ is looking to help bridge the gap right now for Arizonans to get back to work.

Sprouts has 350 positions in Arizona to fill, including part-time positions and management roles at its stores, distribution center, and support center. Those interested must apply online at sprouts.com/careers, and not directly at the store. Interested applicants can also text “careers” to 480-800-8056 for more information.

Walmart is looking to add 150,000 temporary part- and full-time positions to its workforce through the end of May to meet the chain’s high demand. Positions include hours inside Walmart stores, their distribution center and  fulfillment centers and clubs. In Arizona alone, Walmart needs to fill 3,700 positions.

Walmart says that these roles will be temporary at first, but many will convert to permanent roles over time. People can apply at www.walmartcareers.com. Walmart said they’ve shortened their hiring process from two weeks to 24 hours.

WinCo has immediate openings as well, according to a note on their website. Positions include grocery lead clerk, cart clerk, freight stocker, cashier, truck driver, warehouse, deli, bakery, and bulk food.

Target also has open positions at its stores around the Valley. Target is currently offering hours to current employees and is hiring additional employees as needed. You can review open positions at jobs.target.com.

Amazon has a need to fill more than 2,000 part- and full-time positions in Arizona, mainly in their fulfillment centers and delivery. Those interested, can apply at www.amazon.com/jobsnow.

Jet’s Pizza The pizzerias are hiring delivery drivers nationwide. There are two Jet’s Pizza locations in Chandler and Phoenix. Those interested should contact the store directly.

Banner Health has announced that they have more than 950 open positions in Arizona, including medical assistants, nurses, janitorial and environmental services, and patient financial services representatives. Those interested can apply at www.bannerhealth.com/careers.

CVS announced that they have expedited the hiring process in order to fill 32,000 nationwide part-time and full-time positions, including customer service, pharmacists, pharmacist technicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, LVN/LPN/medical assistants, delivery drivers, and warehouse distribution. Walgreens has nearly 9,500 open positions across the country, including customer service associates, pharmacy technicians, shift leads, and beauty consultants. Those interested can apply at jobs.walgreens.com.

Circle K has more than 1,900 open positions at its Circle K stores in Phoenix. The chain has part-time and full-time positions at Circle K’s 600 stores in Arizona, from customer service representatives and management. Circle K has also expedited its hiring process.
