The City of Phoenix will observe the Veterans Day holiday on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, with several municipal facilities and services adjusting their schedules for the day.
Here’s what residents need to know:
Trash and Recycling: Curbside collection will continue as normal, with no changes to pickup schedules.
Transfer Stations: The 27th Avenue and North Gateway transfer stations will be closed for the day.
Public Works Contact Center: Closed Tuesday and reopening at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12. Residents can reach the center at 602-262-6251.
Libraries: All Phoenix Public Library branches will be closed except South Mountain Community Library. Book drops and digital resources will remain available at phoenixpubliclibrary.org.
Parking and Streets: Parking meters will remain enforced from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., including holidays. Street maintenance services will resume Nov. 12. For urgent issues, residents can call 602-262-6021 (traffic signals) or 602-262-6441 (street repairs).
Parks and Recreation: City community centers will be closed, but parks and trails will stay open during regular hours. Visitors are encouraged to follow the city’s “Take a Hike. Do it Right.” safety guidelines.

Public Transit: Bus and light rail will run on regular schedules. Transit centers at Ed Pastor, Sunnyslope, and Central Station will be closed. More information is available at ValleyMetro.org.
Dial-a-Ride: Service will operate by reservation from 4:40 a.m. to 11 p.m. Details can be found at phoenix.gov/dial-a-ride.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport: Travelers are encouraged to reserve parking in advance and arrive at least two hours before domestic flights or three hours before international departures. Security wait times, parking availability, and TSA reservation options are available at skyharbor.com.
