Cave Creek to Host Wicked Halloween Event

Halloween season is almost here, and Cave Creek will proudly host another year of Cave Creek Wicked, an event that lasts almost 24 hours. The event will take place on October 29.

This event not only allows animals, but includes them, also! At Cave Creek Wicked, horses get their own costume contest! Last year, Courtney Olson, from a local horse rescue facility, judged the contest.

One of the new attractions for the event this year is the Wicked Wheels tractor pull. The tractor has trailers distressed with custom elaborate decor and props. Other affairs the festival boasts this year include Gears and Ghosts, a costumed ride for bikers and bike enthusiasts, bands and young adult performers, and a variety of merchants and food options.

Another one of the tractors is zombie themed. Lead fabricator Ron Magee commented on the shuttle vehicles.

“[One of the] rigs will be a zombie killer-filled shuttle filled with loads of creepy characters,” he said.

Both creepy tractors provide their shuttle services free of charge.

Event coordinators divided the festival itinerary into two parts: the all ages welcome events, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the more adult events, including the “pub crawl” beginning at 7 p.m. Other events throughout the day include a children’s costume contest, face painting, arts and crafts, and pet adoptions.

The late evening activities include the free shuttle services, which travel the grounds and make stops for various adult beverages and contests at Harold’s Corral, Big Earl’s Greasy Eats, and many more.

Best of all, there is no admission fee to enter the festival!

Last season alone, coordinators and venders served almost 5,000 people at the Cave Creek Wicked Halloween event.
