Bullseye for Target as Company Opens New Store in Arizona

Just a few days left until Target turns 50,000 square feet at 1625 E. Camelback Road into their newest home, unlike any other in Arizona they have. The soft open on Wednesday before the official opening on July 23 will feature food and apparel for a wide range of customers.

As the first flexible-format location in Arizona, Target’s latest store design allows for stores to occupy smaller spaces, and only fill up with what customer research deems necessary. Target Mobile and mail-order pickup will still be available, and the store itself will be open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays. On Saturdays, this location will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and then from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.

“At Target, our team is rallied around five core beliefs that give us a sense of purpose and serve as guides for how we show up for our guests, each other, and our communities each and every day,” said Target CEO Brian C. Cornell in an open letter to stakeholders.

The core beliefs are innovation, leadership, growth, inclusivity and community, all which Cornell said, “shaped our ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and challenged us to reach even higher to ensure we’re active citizens and valued neighbors in the communities we serve.”

And believe it or not, the company has already moved toward that as they open another location. The first 1,500 customers to enter will be gifted a reusable shopping bag- Target’s latest initiative to push forward a healthier environmental agenda. Guests can stuff their new bag with everything from beauty products and accessories to baby products and portable technology, less stressed about wasting plastic as they roam around the store. The new store will take up the space of a former Sports Authority.
