Buckeye Police Arrest Man For Hit-and-Run Death of Bicyclist

Police say on May 21, Fernando Ramos while driving a pickup truck collided bicyclist 60-year-old George Cooper. The accident happened near Jackrabbit Trail and Beloat Road.

After leaving the scene, deputies located and pulled over Ramos approximately nine miles away and took him into custody.

Police reported that Ramos was not impaired but was speeding. He was driving an estimated 60 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Ramos records show he has a history of arrests and served time for counts including DUI.
