Body of Phoenix Mother Found in Western Arizona

Authorities have confirmed that the body of a missing 37-year-old Phoenix mother of six was found in a western Arizona county.  Her boyfriend will be charged in her death.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, Irene Luevano was found Thursday in a remote area of La Paz County with signs of trauma to her body.

Luevano’s boyfriend Jorge Quintero Lara was the last known person to have seen her last Saturday. They were together at a bar near 27th Avenue and Camelback Road.


Authorities were alerted and the search of Luevano began after she contacted her family at 4 a.m. on Sunday and told them she was stabbed in the neck by her boyfriend.

Lara was later found at a hospital, where authorities reported he had stab wounds that appeared to be self-inflicted. Lara was arrested on unrelated charges and has been in Maricopa County Jail for several days.

While the investigation is still ongoing. Lara is set to be charged with murder in Luevano’s death.
