The Coconino County Sheriff’s office is investigating the death of a person near Sunset Crater.

On Feb. 24, deputies with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding reports of a possible lifeless body found south of Sunset Crater National Monument, north of Flagstaff. Responding officers found a dead unidentified person and investigators are working to determine the details of the crime
