Backyard Games Day at WestWorld of Scottsdale

The blistering heat can keep many people inside to avoid heat stroke during the hot summer days.  If you are looking for some great family indoor fun you need to look no further than the new event being held at WestWorld of Scottsdale this Father’s Day Weekend.  There will be lots of interactive family fun brought indoors to escape the heat.

The first annual Backyard Games day is to be held on June 17, 2017.  The event is meant to encourage multiple generations of family members to spend some quality time together.  The event, started by KB Kornhole Games owner Todd Kisicki is meant to encourage indoor, family-friendly time together during the hot months in Arizona.

Kisicki said that swimming can only be exciting for so long before the thrill wears off.  “I know with taking my three-year old swimming, by the time mid-June comes around, swimming is going to get boring.  I want something else to do with my child.”  So on that note, Kisicki came up with the idea of having some family fun games indoors.

Popular lawn and board games will be offered, including cornhole beanbag toss boards, giant Jenga, Pole-ish Horseshoes, Frisbee, ball pong, giant dominoes, giant Connect 4, washer toss, giant checkers, and a Rollers disc-rolling activity.

The event will also feature a 5-and-under kid’s zone with inflatables and a maze for the younger set.  Older children and adults will be able to try wall-climbing, an obstacle course, a jousting activity, and football toss.

A Cornhole Championship tournament will be at the center of the activities for social to more advanced players.  There will be divisions for the participants from beginners, intermediate players, and experts.

Aside from backyard games and the Cornhole tournament, there will also be more than 60 vintage and handmade vendors from Front Porch Pickins, a market that supports the sale of repurposed, vintage, and homemade items.

Also in attendance will be the non-profit pet rescue, anti-bullying, and foster children organizations.
