Auditions For “Shark Tank” Being Held In Phoenix

The Emmy-winning reality show is holding auditions in Phoenix at the end of July. The auditions is a casting event that is a part of a nationwide diversity tour, and it’s a bid to increase the amount of minority-owned businesses and contestants on the show.

The Phoenix casting event will be held on July 23. The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Values Partnership is partnering with “Shark Tank” for the event, and it’ll be held at the Better Business Bureau at 1010 E. Missouri Avenue. The auditions will be held on a first-come, first-served basis and will be held all day.

“We are thrilled to partner with Shark Tank for a casting call to offer a launching pad for Phoenix’s diverse entrepreneurs,” said Gonzalo A. de La Melena, Jr., the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President and CEO.

“As the operator of the Phoenix Minority Business Development Agency Center, we remain focused on elevating minority-owned businesses by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in high-growth industries.”

The event is being used to find contestants for the 11th season of the entrepreneurial-based show. The show gives contestants the opportunity to show off their best business ideas. If a contestant wins, they will receive the funding to make their business idea a reality. Ten cities, including Phoenix, are participating in the program.

“Shark Tank’s Diversity Tour provides an exciting opportunity for minority entrepreneurs to possibly receive expert mentoring and investment capital infusion to grow successful top-class businesses,” said Alika Kumar, the executive director of the Phoenix Minority Business Development Agency Business Center.
