PHOENIX — Attorney General Kris Mayes has announced the launch of a new webpage aimed at collecting reports from Arizonans experiencing disruptions to their Social Security benefits.
“I am deeply concerned that Elon Musk and the Trump Administration will dismantle the Social Security Administration,” Mayes said. “If any Arizonan faces disruptions to their hard-earned benefits, I urge them to report it immediately. I will not stand by while an authoritarian administration undermines critical services that millions depend on.”
Concerns Over Social Security Changes
Recent reports have highlighted potential cuts to the Social Security Administration, including a 12% reduction in its workforce, diminished phone support, and new in-person check-in requirements—all while closing field offices. While benefits should still be arriving as usual, early reports suggest some disruptions may already be occurring.
To address these concerns, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office has launched a dedicated webpage where residents can report any interruptions to their Social Security payments or services.
Legal Action Against Federal Policies
Attorney General Mayes has taken legal steps to challenge actions by President Trump and Elon Musk, arguing that they are unconstitutional and harmful to Arizonans. Her office has filed lawsuits on several issues, including protections for birthright citizenship, blocking federal funding freezes, defending privacy rights, safeguarding public health research, and opposing what she calls an “unconstitutional power grab” affecting workers and students in Arizona.
