Attempted Murder Suspect Sought in Buckeye Shooting

Buckeye Police are currently searching for a suspect in connection in an attempted murder in a Buckeye neighborhood that has left one person in critical care.

Buckeye Police officers were called out to a home near Yuma Road and Jackrabbit Trail on report of a shooting around 7 p.m. on March 22. Officers found a victim who had been shot. The person was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The victim’s identity was not released.

Investigators believe Jose Esteban Mendoza, 33 years old, is believed to be the shooter. Mendoza fled the scene in a 2015 black Dodge Charger SXT with a Phoenix Suns license plate PX3432.
