ASU Police Searching for Armed Suspect Accused of Sexual Assault Near Parking Structure

On Sunday morning, an attack happened near an ASU parking structure. Arizona State University police are now looking for the armed suspect accused of sexually assaulting the victim.

The suspect reportedly grabbed the woman from behind and held a metal knife-like object to her throat.

The man then took the woman to an area location near the Packard parking structure where he sexually assaulted her before pressing what she felt was a gun-like object into her back and fleeing the area on foot.

Authorities say the attack occurred between the ASU Packard parking structure at Scottsdale Road and Rio Salado Parkway and the Hyatt House Tempe near Rural Road and University Drive.

Both Tempe and ASU police officers responded to the scene, but were not able to locate the suspect.

The man is described as dark-skinned, taller than 5-foot-8. He has short curly hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with black jean shorts and a belt and is considered armed and dangerous.
