PHOENIX — Arizona State University is expanding its business education offerings with a brand-new undergraduate degree in real estate and applied finance, the school announced this week.
The W. P. Carey School of Business will begin offering the new program at its Tempe campus starting this fall. The degree was developed as part of a broader initiative by the W. P. Carey Foundation to strengthen real estate education at ASU.
“Real estate isn’t just about buildings — it’s the social and economic framework that supports resilient communities,” said Mark Stapp, professor of real estate at the business school. “This new degree program equips students to lead in that space, where financial insight and strategic decision-making can shape the future of our cities and economy.”
Program Highlights
The new degree will combine finance and real estate education to prepare students for leadership roles in property markets. Program features include:
A curriculum focused on financial analysis, real estate principles, and problem-solving.
Hands-on learning through an experiential lab.
Mentorship and industry connections through the W. P. Carey Center for Real Estate and Finance.
Opportunities to explore local, national, and global real estate markets.
“Real estate is the world’s largest asset class, and it plays a central role in shaping communities and creating opportunities,” said Ohad Kadan, dean of the W. P. Carey School of Business. “With this new program, we’re investing in the next generation of professionals who will lead and innovate across the real estate and financial sectors.”
Prospective students can apply online through ASU’s admissions website.
