Arizona’s First Mac & Cheese Festival

The Scottsdale Waterfront is about to get gouda. The inaugural Mac & Cheese Festival is coming up. That’s right, an entire festival dedicated to everyone’s favorite comfort food. Is it going to be a good time? You feta believe it!

On Saturday, October 7, you can come out to the waterfront around lunchtime for the festival’s kickoff. You can expect several different varieties of macaroni and cheese from some of your favorite restaurants. There will even be a bit of a showdown called the Home Chef S’Mac Down. These are locals that submitted videos of their delectable dishes of mac and cheese and were selected to compete in person. They will be in the Demo Tent if you’re looking for a little competition. They may just inspire you to make their dishes at home!

What goes great with macaroni and cheese? Beer! There will be quite a few local breweries at the festival offering up their finest taps. Bonus fact: some of the breweries will be offering up special brews and pairing them with a mac and cheese dish that features the cheese that compliments their brew best. This is a great chance to familiarize yourself with these complimentary pairings. Now you will know what brew to buy when you are serving mac and cheese to your dinner guests.

Eat too much? Work off some of your food and get to know your fellow cheese-lovers at the Big Cheese Game Deck. Here, you will be able to play a variety of games and get away from the food for a moment. Ping pong, cornhole, and lawn Jenga are just a few of the games you will have the opportunity to play. Who will brie the very best?

This event won’t cost you a lot of cheddar either. It is $15 for regular festival entry, excluding food and drink packages. However, for $75 you can become a big cheese (VIP) and get all kinds of bonuses. With VIP entry, you get to enter a whole hour earlier than other festival attendees (11 a.m.), a pack of five drink tickets and fifteen food tickets, and even an exclusive lounge and restroom. To purchase your tickets, visit http://macandcheesefestaz.com or you can wait to buy them at the gate.
