PHOENIX — Arizona officials are urging residents to take advantage of federal clean energy tax credits before they expire at the end of this year. The Arizona Governor’s Office of Resiliency announced Tuesday that many of the cost-saving incentives for electric vehicles, solar systems, and home efficiency improvements are being phased out under recent congressional changes.
Through the Arizona Clean Energy Hub, residents can find details on the full range of tax credits and rebates available to help cut energy costs. Programs currently in place allow Arizonans to save thousands of dollars upfront on clean energy investments while also reducing monthly utility bills.
Governor Katie Hobbs emphasized the urgency: “As families face rising costs and strained household budgets, these energy tax credits can help Arizonans save costs now and in the future. It’s a great time to upgrade your home and take advantage of the financial incentives while they are still available.”
Incentives nearing deadlines include:
Electric Vehicle Tax Credits – Up to $7,500 for new EV purchases and $4,000 for used EVs. Purchases and deliveries must be completed by Sept. 30, 2025.
Residential Clean Energy Credit – A 30% tax credit for solar, wind, and geothermal systems, available until Dec. 31, 2025.
Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit – Up to $3,200 for efficiency upgrades like insulation, new windows, and heat pumps, also expiring Dec. 31, 2025.
Officials say many residents are not aware of the expiring deadlines or how to access the programs. Maren Mahoney, Director of the Governor’s Office of Resiliency, explained: “Navigating all the funding opportunities can be overwhelming. That’s why the Governor’s Office of Resiliency created the Arizona Clean Energy Hub so Arizonans are aware of ways they can save money, improve the comfort and efficiency of their homes and businesses, and reduce emissions.”
The Arizona Clean Energy Hub, launched in 2024, is a digital resource designed to connect residents, businesses, schools, and local governments with available funding. It provides information on programs at the federal, state, local, and utility levels and explains how the incentives work.
Officials encourage Arizonans to review available incentives now and take action before the deadlines pass, ensuring they don’t miss out on major savings.
