An 18-year-old Lake Havasu City resident has been arrested after authorities alleged he uploaded child sexual abuse material to an artificial intelligence platform, according to local law enforcement.
The Lake Havasu City Police Department identified the suspect as Tyberius Sass. He was taken into custody Thursday and booked on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Investigators said the case began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted authorities to online activity believed to have originated within the department’s jurisdiction. Detectives then executed search warrants involving several social media and online communication platforms, which police say ultimately led them to Sass.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed additional details about the alleged uploads or the specific AI platform involved.
Sass remained in custody Friday on a $50,000 cash bond.
The arrest comes amid increasing scrutiny nationwide over the misuse of artificial intelligence and digital tools in child exploitation cases. Arizona prosecutors and law enforcement agencies have recently pursued several high-profile investigations involving AI-generated or digitally distributed child sexual abuse material.
