Arizona Senate Panel Approves Bill to Allow Dentists To Preform Cosmetic Botox Treatments

A little Botox while you get your teeth cleaned. That could become the reality in Arizona if a proposed bill bases the Arizona legislature.

On Wednesday, an Arizona Senate panel voted unanimously to allow dentists to provide Botox treatments and dermal fillers for cosmetic purposes.

Currently dentists already use Botox in some therapeutic cases. It is used to help with muscles in the jaw to reduce the pain associated with temporomandibular joint disorder, known as TMJ.

The proposed bill would expand the use by dentists and allow them to offer patients Botox treatment for a cosmetic purpose.

For many in the dental industry they view the opportunity to offer additional treatments as a great opportunity to help recover from business lost during the pandemic.
