Arizona Science Center Launches Community Initiative to Help Shape Its Future

The downtown Phoenix museum invites residents to a listening session to offer feedback on how to expand its impact and appeal to all ages

PHOENIX — The Arizona Science Center is inviting the public to help shape its future through a new community input initiative aimed at making the museum a top destination for science learning and engagement.

As part of a broader renewal effort, the center will host its first-ever public listening session this Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Attendees can join for free by submitting an RSVP online. The event will allow families, educators, science experts, and community members to share their thoughts on how to improve and evolve the center’s offerings.

“Our goal is to expand the role and impact of the center as a leading place for informal learning and ensure it remains a vibrant, inclusive and inspiring space for exploring and understanding the wonders of science,” said Guy Labine, CEO of the Arizona Science Center.

The new initiative aims to turn the center into a “must-see part of Arizona,” with immersive experiences that appeal to all age groups. Center officials say the feedback will play a critical role in future renovations and program development.

“We believe that the best way to serve our community is by listening to it,” said Sari Custer, Chief of Science and Curiosity. “This event is a unique opportunity for individuals to have a direct impact on the future of Arizona Science Center, the experiences we create and how we better serve our community in the future.”

The center has recently completed several upgrades, including a new next-generation planetarium screen, and hopes this collaborative effort will help guide its next phase of innovation. Additional details on the initiative and how to participate are available through the Arizona Science Center.
