As of Friday morning, Arizona now has 6,045 cases. 276 new coronavirus positive tests were reported by the state health department.
17 new fatalities were also reported, bring the state death count to 266.
2,017 new tests were processed since the previous day bringing the total to 60,714 tests administered in Arizona..
Health Director Dr. Cara Christ said in a recent blog post that labs around the state have ramped up capacity, allowing COVID-19 testing criteria to be expanded to include anyone who believes they have been exposed to or potentially infected with the virus. Testing had been prioritized for at-risk populations, people showing serious symptoms and health care workers.
