Arizona MVD Wait Times Are Down Due To Online Testing Program

Aspiring drivers and Motor Vehicle Division offices are both benefiting from Permit Test @ Home, Arizona’s online learner’s permit program. According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, 83,000 tests have been taken online in the last year.

While new drivers still have to go to an office to pick up their permits, transactions are much quicker because they don’t have to be tested at the office. Wait times have decreased from 52 minutes to 22 minutes, and the decrease is attributed to the online program.

To complete a learner’s permit test online, an applicant has to be 15 1⁄2 years old. When learning to drive, they must have a licensed driver, who is 21 years or older, accompany them.

To receive a license, they must have 30 road hours and pass a road test.
