Arizona Man Sentenced to 3 Life Terms for Sexually Abusing Stepdaughter and Another Minor

Robert Allen Lee received a minimum 150-year sentence for abuse spanning years and attempts to influence witnesses.

An Arizona man has been sentenced to three life terms for the sexual abuse of two minors, including his stepdaughter, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.

Robert Allen Lee, 55, was found guilty in November 2024 on multiple charges, including nine counts of sexual conduct with a minor, two counts of involving minors in drug offenses, and several charges related to tampering with witnesses. Most of the charges are classified as felonies.

Sentencing Details

Lee received concurrent life sentences on December 18, 2024, for three of the sexual conduct convictions, each carrying the possibility of release after 35 years. In total, Lee’s sentences amount to a minimum of 150 years, ensuring he will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Details of the Abuse and Charges

The crimes occurred in Peoria, with Lee abusing his stepdaughter between the ages of 9 and 15. His stepdaughter’s friend initially reported the abuse to Peoria Police in 2021, which led to Lee’s arrest.

While in custody, Lee tried to manipulate the situation by asking his wife to intimidate the victims and their families, and to persuade his stepdaughter to lie and recant her allegations. The stepdaughter later disclosed that she, too, was a victim of Lee’s abuse.

Praise for the Victims’ Courage

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell commended the victims for coming forward despite the challenges. “Having prosecuted sex crimes for more than 30 years, I can only begin to describe the amount of courage it took for these two girls to speak up and ask for help,” Mitchell said in a press release.
