Arizona Department of Transportation Releases 5 New Specialty License Plates

Arizona Drivers have even more options when it comes to supporting a cause or promoting their interest with the release of five new specialty license plates debuted by the Arizona Department of Transportation. With the addition of the new specialty license plates, Arizona drivers can choose from more than 70 plates.

Arizonans can now purchase license plates that support Habitat for Humanity, Alzheimer’s awareness, and the Fiesta Bowl.

Additional new plates that have been added are plates for recipients of the Distinguished Flying Cross military honor, a plate that promotes road safety and awareness for cyclists and runners, and one for the Arizona Historical Society.

There is an annual $25 fee for a specialty plate, however $17, from each plate purchased goes directly to support the selected program on the plate.

In July ADOT announced $11.4 million in sales of specialty plates for the 2020 fiscal year, which exceeded the 2019 record of $11.2 million.

Residents can view and choose from a selection of specialty license plates on Service Arizona’s website.
