Arizona Coronavirus Cases Continue To Climb, Adds 310 Cases and 20 Deaths To State Totals

According to the Arizona state health department, Arizona added an additional 300 coronavirus cases and sadly experienced another 20 deaths.

The 310 additional COVID-19 positive tests varied throughout the counties bringing the state total now to 5,769 cases and 249 deaths. Thursday’s report marked the third consecutive day of 20 fatalities.

The state has issued 58,697 tests which was an increase of more than 2,000 from the previous day. 9% of the tests administered are testing position for COVID-19

On Wednesday afternoon, in a much anticipated press conference, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced that as the stay-at-home order expiration was quickly approaching, he’d wait until next week to decide whether to alter the order. Ducey said he has three options to weigh: let the order expire, extend it in its current form or modify and improve it. He referred to the process as a dimmer light switch. The process will involve looking at all aspects and slowly allowing business to return to normal in a step by step process.

Step one will be in effect next week as Gov. Ducey did announce that he will lift the ban on elective surgeries effective May 1.
