Arizona Continues Upward Trend in Job Opportunities

As companies expand to Arizona, job opportunities have continued to rise in May and June.

Metromile, a revolutionary pay-per-mile car insurance company, announced in May its plan to open a third office in Tempe, adding at least 130 jobs.

According to AZ Business Magazine, Dan Preston, CEO of Metromile said, “We are really excited to be in Tempe. We looked at a number of cities but were impressed with Tempe’s business and technology community and diverse talent pool.”

Metromile isn’t the only company impressed with Arizona’s offerings, Comcast has also made the decision to expand to the state and announced plans to open a new customer support center in Tucson in the fall of 2015.

“Comcast’s decision to expand its presence in Tucson is excellent news for our state, and the latest validation that we’re open and ready for business,” said Governor Ducey.

Comcast’s new facility will produce a significant economic impact, creating more than 1,100 jobs.

Apple is another company who continues to develop its presence in the state with plans to create 300 to 500 additional jobs at the east Mesa command center.

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, “One said that the Valley is being watched to see what happens with Apple. It could be a very important selling point for future developments.”

Metromile, Comcast and Apple are just a few examples of companies planning to hire more employees as they grow their footprint in the state. To learn about other companies hiring in Arizona, please read the Arizona Republic article, Arizona Companies Hiring 100 or more in June.
