Arizona Continues To Report Increase In Coronavirus Cases and Deaths

Wednesday morning brought the news that the number of coronavirus cases and deaths in Arizona is not decreasing. Officials with the Arizona health department reported 151 new cases of coronavirus and seven additional deaths.

That moves the state totals to 2,726 positive cases and 80 deaths. The Arizona Department of Health Services has given 34,564 tests.

Maricopa County, continues to be the hardest-hit county in the state. They saw an increase of 64 case, for a total of 1,559 on Wednesday. Of the Maricopa County’s cases, 20% of patients have required hospitalization.

As of Tuesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported nationally 374,000 COVID-19 known cases, resulting in 12,064 deaths.

As of Wednesday morning, data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, report there have been more than 1.4 million cases reported with 83,000 deaths globally.
