We Work for Health recently announced a financial grant of $3,000 to the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (ACESDV). Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s office joined the two organizations in a virtual event announcing the grant.
We Work for Health worked with ACESDV to bring this vital funding to Arizona’s organizations that work with survivors of domestic and sexual violence. ACESDV is leading the way in this to end violence and oppression by collaborating with local partners to shift policy, systems, and culture. Founded in 1980, ACESDV works directly with victims and survivors and provides services on prevention, recognizing abuse, and encouraging help for those experiencing sexual or domestic violence.
ACESDV recognizes the role that prescription drug abuse may play in this violence, and are committed to using these funds to help train staff to recognize drug abuse and educate the Arizona community on safe disposal.
“My first job in college was as a crisis counselor working with domestic violence survivors – so ensuring Arizonans are protected from sexual and physical abuse from their partners is personal to me. I’m grateful to the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence and We Work For Health for their partnership helping strengthen support, protections, and resources for Arizonans in need,” said Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema.
We are incredibly thankful to We Work For Health for their commitment to ending domestic and sexual violence,” said ACESDV CEO Jenna Panas. “Their donation will enable us to create a safer and more supportive environment for those impacted by domestic violence and substance use by being able to provide comprehensive training to Arizona domestic violence providers, equipping them with the skills to manage and mitigate the risks associated with fentanyl in our community.”
“We Work for Health works with community partners across the entire healthcare ecosystem. While we champion the innovation industry when it comes to creating and fostering new cures and treatments, we also know that our role and responsibility to the community does not end there. That is why we are so proud to support ACESDV and their mission to help those in need and provide resources to those who may be victims of drug abuse” said Dan Leonard of We Work For Health.
