Students at Children First Leadership Academy received a unique lesson in teamwork and community this month as the Arizona Cardinals and Phoenix Police Department joined forces for a day of football, mentorship, and relationship-building on the school’s campus.
The event featured Cardinals players and Phoenix police officers leading football drills, games, and interactive activities while introducing students to the NFL Character Playbook curriculum. Participants also had opportunities to win autographed memorabilia and share lunch together, with Chick-fil-A providing meals for the event.
The Phoenix Police Department’s Central City Precinct Community Action Team coordinated the program as part of its ongoing community outreach efforts. Organizers said many students had never met a professional football player or spoken with a police officer, making the experience an opportunity to build familiarity and positive relationships in an informal setting.
