Arizona Cardinals Choose Paris Johnson

Following a trade with the Detroit Lions at number 6, Paris Johnson is now a Arizona Cardinal.

The Cardinals selected the Ohio State offensive lineman on Thursday night.

It is hope with Johnson’s addition, the lineman can offer the needed powerful protection of quarterback Kyler Murray. Johnson has been described as fast, physical, and violent.

The move to capture Johnson was a lively start for the Cardinals draft day. The franchise originally had the Number 3 overall selection choice, but traded that opportunity to the Houston Texans for the No. 12 and No. 33 selections in this year’s draft and a first- and third-round pick in next year’s draft.

Johnson had an inkling he might be drafted by Arizona because his pre-draft visit with the team went smoothly. Johnson also has a special history with the Cardinal organization. The Cardinals selected his dad in the fifth round of the 1999 draft, Paris Johnson Sr. 24 years later his son will suit up for Arizona.

The Cardinal’s work is not completed. The franchise will have the No. 33 overall pick on Friday, which is the second pick of the evening. That will be followed with their No. 81, No. 94, and No. 96 selections in the third round.
