In a report released Monday morning, six more Arizona residents have died due to coronavirus. Just as Arizona makes strides to reopen the state, health officials also reported an additional 261 new positive cases for COVID-19.
Monday’s report brings the state totals to 11,380 cases and 542 fatalities for the state of Arizona.
State health officials have advised that the daily data reports can lag by several days since the state needs time to receive statistics and compile the data. It is important to know that the data is not an actual representation of the activity over the past 24 hours.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported there have been 78,771 deaths from more than 1.3 million COVID-19 cases nationally as of Sunday’s update.
Globally Johns Hopkins University reports there are more than 4.1 million cases and over 283,000 deaths as of Monday morning.
