Arizona Adds 3,428 New Coronavirus Cases

In Friday’s daily update, the Arizona Department of Health Services reported 3,428 new coronavirus cases in the state. Arizona’s documented total number of positive coronavirus cases is now 66,458.

The update also reported there have been 45 additional deaths. Arizona’s death total is 1,535.

Friday’s report marked the fifth daily report of more than 3,000 new cases in the past eight days and the second-most ever behind the 3,591 which was reported on Tuesday.

With Arizona’s positive cases rising at a faster rate Gov. Doug Ducey sounded a warning, urging Arizonans to take additional steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Those steps include including staying home except when necessary and wearing face masks in public.

Medical health professionals are warning that Arizona can expect to see a big jump in the number of deaths in the state in the coming weeks due to the increase in cases currently.
