Arizona Adds 172 COVID-19 Deaths To State Total

Thursday’s daily report from the Arizona Department of Health Services reported that Arizona added 172 new coronavirus deaths. The update marks the most reported deaths in a single day, However, the department noted that 78 of reported deaths were identified through death certificate matching.

The report also added 2,525 new cases, bringing the state’s total number of COVID-19 cases in Arizona to 170,798. The total number of fatalities in Arizona is now 3,626

The report shows that the number of confirmed or suspected coronavirus patients in Arizona’s hospitals has continued a steady decline after peaking in mid-July.
