An Arizona Woman Charged in the 2020 Murder of Her Two Children

On December 4, 2020, two children were found decapitated. On Wednesday, authorities announced that their mother, an Arizona resident has been arrested in their murders.

Natalie Brothwell, 44, was taken into custody Tuesday, accused of killing her two children. She was arrested at her Tucson home.

Brothwell, was charged Monday with murder and felony child endangerment and is being held at the Pima County Jail pending extradition to California, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.


Brothwell’s 13-year-old daughter, Malaka Taylor, and 12-year-old son, Maurice Taylor Jr., were found decapitated Dec. 4 at their home in Lancaster, which is just northeast of Los Angeles.

35-year-old Maurice Taylor Sr., the children’s father, was previously charged in their deaths and still remains in custody.

Allegedly Maurice Taylor killed the two children on November 29th He kept the bodies in the home for days and then apparently showed their bodies to his two other sons.

Taylor was charged with child abuse of the surviving sons, ages 8 and 9 years old at the time. It has been reported that the children were forced to stay in their rooms without food for several days.

Details of Brothwell’s alleged role in the killings has not yet been made clear from the sheriff’s department.
