Allegiant Air to Start Flying From Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport

Good news for travelers who are looking for lower airfare out of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

For the first time, travelers will be able to fly Allegiant Air from the Phoenix airport.

The airline currently flies out of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in east Mesa. For many travelers, making the journey to the east valley airport to capitalize on the lower fares Allegiant Air tends to offer is not an option.

Starting October 8, Allegiant will offer nonstop service between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Provo, Utah. On October 15, the airline will add flights from Phoenix to Stockton Metropolitan Airport in California.  Allegiant is offering a promotional fare of $38 one way on both routes.

Allegiant adds Mesa-Pittsburgh Flights

The airline also has plans to expand flights out of the East Valley airport. Flights from Mesa to Pittsburgh International Airport will begin August 15.

“We are thrilled to offer affordable access to three new cities to help travelers bring those plans to life, without the hassle of connections and layovers,” Drew Wells, Allegiant’s senior vice president of revenue and planning, said in a press release.

“Providing convenient access to Provo, Stockton and Pittsburgh will also give thousands of new visitors the opportunity to experience all that the beautiful Phoenix area has to offer,” Wells said.

How to Book Allegiant tickets

Travelers looking to book a flight with Allegiant should keep in mind that as an low-cost carrier offers low fares but carry-on bags, checked bags and seat assignments do cost extra. Prior to booking, make sure to factor those into your budget.

Introductory fares from Sky Harbor to Provo or Stockton start at $38 each way and must be booked by May 26 for travel through Jan. 3.

Tickets from Mesa Gateway to Pittsburgh start at $89 each way and must be booked by May 26 for travel through Jan. 1.
