Ak-Chin Pavilion Renamed Under Talking Stick Resort Sponsorship

A popular west valley outdoor music venue now has a new name.

On Wednesday, Live Nation announced that the Ak-Chin Pavilion will be renamed Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre.

“Talking Stick Resort prides itself on partnering with organizations with goals that align with our own,” said Ramon Martinez, director of public relations for Talking Stick Resort, in a press release. “Live Nation is just that type of partner. Like us, they are committed and passionate about providing guests with unparalleled entertainment. We are proud to have the Talking Stick Resort name associated with a legendary venue where people go to have unforgettable experiences.”


The venue has had many names over the years:

Desert Sky Pavilion, 1988-1996
Blockbuster Desert Sky Pavilion, 1996-2001
Cricket Pavilion, 2001-2006
Cricket Wireless Pavilion, 2006-2010
Ashley Furniture Home Store Pavilion, 2010-2013
Desert Sky Pavilion, briefly in 2013
Ak-Chin Pavilion, 2013-2023

Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre has been entertaining music fans since 1990. The venue has a 20,000 person capacity. It can seat 8,106 in assigned seats under the open pavilion roof, while allowing an additional 12,000 concertgoers on the open seating lawn behind the ticketed seated area. The venue is located near 83rd Avenue and McDowell Road in west Phoenix.
