5 Events for Kids Happening in September

If you have little ones, (or even teenagers!) there’s plenty to do this upcoming month around the Valley to keep them busy. To plan ahead and help make it easy for you, here are our 5 top picks.

 1. Superhero September Kickoff
On September 3, visit the Childhelp Children’s Advocacy Center of Arizona Dedicated to Linda Pope where you and the family can take photos and get autographs from 27 superheroes, including Captain America and Batman. The event will be held from 9am-12pm and is free for all ages. 

2. City Lights Movie Night
Pack a bag with your children’s favorite snacks and head to CityScape on September 9 at 6:30pm where you and the family can watch “Minions” for free. In addition to the movie, there will also be minion-themed activities and a splash pad where kids can play before the movie starts. 


3. 5 Seconds of Summer Concert
Make plans to see one of the hottest teen bands, 5 Seconds of Summer, perform live on September 10 at 7:30pm at Ak-Chin Pavillian. Popular hits include “She Looks So Perfect,” “Good Girls” and “She’s Kinda Hot.”

4. Arizona Diamondback’s Sunday Slugger Show
Join D. Baxter the Bobcat, Bobby Freeman and a D-backs players on September 18 at 11:45am at Chase Field where they’ll educate children about the dangers of smokeless tobacco and promote good dental habits. The show is set to take place at Baxter’s Den in the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Sandlot, just past section 332. 

5. Slide Across America
The world’s largest traveling water park is coming to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick September 23-25. The event is set to include over 40 water slides and attractions, zip lines, a rock wall, food and more. Ticket prices range between $20-$80. Visit www.slideacrossamerica.com for more information.
