So you’ve been to the Grand Canyon. Have you ever thought about riding the river down below?

The National Park Service announced they will open the application process for the adventure seeking to take a trip down the Colorado River through Grand Canyon National Park in 2024.

The park service will only grant 459 permits for river trips during the calendar year 2024. A lottery will be held to assign launch dates for those chosen.

To register for a noncommercial river trip permit, you must be 18 year and older. The trips must be self-guided, and technical whitewater experience is mandated for every trip. Individuals are allowed to take one recreational trip per year. Register here: weighted lottery’s website.
