There can be so much pressure that comes with planning what you’ll do on new year’s eve. We set such high expectations for creating this perfect night that we sometimes suck the magic out of it. New year’s eve is the one day that allows us to reflect back on all that the previous year has brought us, while also looking forward with positive spirits. Who knows what’s in store for you in 2022!
Alleviate some of that stress and check out what’s going on in Flagstaff. There’s an ample amount of events to choose from that are sure to help you create that memorable night you’re hoping for.

Also, be sure to create your own pinecone art!

A New Year’s Eve tradition since 1999, the Great Pine Cone Drop is back to being in person this year! Join as thousands gather in the streets to countdown to the new year. Watch the lowering of the beloved Pine Cone followed by a fireworks display to ring in 2022.

Righteous Harmony is known for their knack of improv on stage, every song played uniquely to their venue. Everything from rock, jazz, the Dead, fusion, blues, and more can be heard once they take the stage.
As you get ready to welcome in 2022, F-Town Sound will wrap up 2021 with a New Orlean’s style precession out to the pine cone drop!

Where: International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon, Williams
Gen-la Kelsang Jampa, a senior NKT teacher and student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, has taught at many centers and events around the world. Known for his inspiring teachings and loving heart, he’s bringing Happy Whatever Happens to help you start the new year off in the right mindset.
Offered both online and in-person, he’ll talk about how it’s our own mental habits that make us feel unhappy and stressed. You’ll get insight on how to gain the power that will ultimately free you from these negative thoughts and emotions. He’ll guide you as you come to see the potential of using a peaceful mind to push you into true happiness.
When: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Jan. 1
Where: Northern Arizona Yoga Center, Flagstaff
We’ve all heard that happiness stems from within, that the care we show ourselves is how we manifest a clear, positive mind. What better way to start the new year than to take the time to look inward and listen to ourselves; our wants, needs, dreams. For two hours put all your focus on yourself and join Carrie Hoffman, Zach Minnich, and Jan Michael in this healing workshop.
Focusing on breathwork eases you into a state of mindfulness and healing. It allows you to tap into your higher states of consciousness. Guests will learn about the history, benefits, and science of breathwork while participating in four or more rounds of Wim Hof breathing accompanied by sound healing. To wrap it up, head over to Flagstaff Climbing’s side yard if you decide that you’d like to participate in a 60 + second cold immersion ice bath.
Take a trip to the Arizona Snowbowl
Whether you’re a seasoned pro, or completely new to winter sports, the Arizona Snowbowl offers trails for all levels, rentals, and lessons. Choose from skiing, snowboarding, or a ski bike (Sno-Go). With 26 newly remodeled cabins and rooms, book a weekend getaway at Basecamp. Their restaurant features a full-service bar. There’s different facilities located throughout the resort, including their main banquet facility, the Hart Prairie Lodge. If you’re travelling with a large group, you can look into booking one of their facilities.
Every Saturday throughout the winter season, different breweries will be hosted at the different lodges within the resort. These Tap Takeovers allow you to relax while you warm up inside with a unique brew in hand. On New Year’s Day there are two Tap Takeovers. The first is from 1 – 4 p.m. at Fremont Lodge brought to you by Western Son Brewery. San Tan Brewery will be coming to the 9500′ Bar at Agassiz Lodge 2 – 5 p.m.
