Jesus Januario Sandoval Leyva Faces Multiple Drug Charges After Massive Bust Involving DEA and Tempe Police

PHOENIX – Authorities announced Monday that a Maricopa County grand jury indicted 19-year-old Jesus Januario Sandoval Leyva on multiple drug-related charges after a major fentanyl bust. The indictment follows an October 10 seizure by the Tempe Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), during which 150,000 fentanyl pills were confiscated.

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office reported that Sandoval Leyva allegedly conspired to sell the fentanyl pills from August 21 through October 11 of this year. Following his arrest on October 10, a grand jury indicted him on October 21, charging him with possessing a narcotic drug for sale, illegally conducting an enterprise, and possessing fentanyl pills for sale.

This case highlights ongoing efforts by Arizona law enforcement to curb the distribution of fentanyl, a highly potent and dangerous drug linked to numerous overdose fatalities.
